First look at New York-inspired rooftop bar and grill ahead of Leeds launch

Restaurant group D&D London has given a sneak peek of its latest Leeds restaurant – East 59th – a week before it opens to the public.

The Manhattan-style rooftop bar and grill will open at the £165m Victoria Gate development on Friday July 14th, but new images reveal how the venue is taking shape ahead of the launch.

The finishing touches are now being made to 5,400sq ft rooftop venue, which includes an all-day grill, bar and terrace offering panoramic city views.

Paul Rogers, Senior General Manager, said: “Everyone has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure East 59th is one of the hottest new additions to the already thriving food and drink scene in Leeds.

“We can’t wait for the people of Leeds to come and try it for themselves – whether it’s one of our eye-catching cocktails on the terrace or a full American feast in our restaurant.”

East 59th offers an American-inspired menu featuring US classics such as burgers, bagels, ribs, steak and lobster.

The venue, which is named after the street in New York where you can find D&D’s venue Guastavino’s, takes inspiration from New York’s vibrant nightlife and will host regular DJ events.

East 59th is D&D’s fourth Leeds venue, following on from Crafthouse and Angelica at Trinity Leeds, and Issho – an authentic Japanese restaurant and bar located just next door to East 59th.
