The Dearne Valley Employment and Skills project delivered by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, the only organisation dedicated to supporting former mining towns and villages, has secured £32,000 thanks to a donation from Ladbrokes Coral.
The funding, which is allocated to the Dearne Valley Employment and Skills project, will mark the sixth year the company has shown its support with a total investment of £190,000 since it first developed the strategic partnership with the charity in 2013.
During the first five years the project has worked with 420 people and reported that 183 have secured work, 16 have become involved in volunteering and 133 have accessed training to build their skills and employment prospects.
The total social wellbeing value of the activity that has been delivered is £2,887,362* which represents a social return on investment of £18 for every £1 spent over the first five years of the project. This makes it one of the most successful corporate partnerships delivered by The Coalfields Regeneration Trust since it began in 1999.
