£200,000 investment in new Carlisle flooring store

Fresh from opening eight new stores in just a week, one of the UK’s fastest-growing retailers is now adding Carlisle to its list of locations.

Flooring Superstore will open a new outlet on city’s Kingstown Retail Park on 24th April.

The retailer is investing £200,000 in the new 4,000 square store which is creating four new jobs for local people.

This is Flooring Superstore’s first venture into Cumbria and comes on the back of other store openings in one week earlier in April, in Huddersfield, Doncaster, Newcastle, Norwich, Lincoln, Hull, Orpington, and Basingstoke.

Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Greig Anderson said: “We have been waiting for the go-ahead from the Government for non-essential retail to resume, so now we are delighted to be able to announce Carlisle as the location for our newest store.

“This will be the ninth store we have launched since the 12th April and forms part of our strategy of targeting large towns and cities for new store openings in 2021.

“As Carlisle is the largest city in the UK by area, we couldn’t have chosen a better place location for the new store and for it to be situated on a busy retail park.

“We are now looking forward to making our own contribution to the local economy, especially as the retail sector looks to bounce back from Covid-19.”

Shoppers visiting Flooring Superstore in Carlisle will have access to an unrivalled range of carpets but also a huge choice of other flooring, such as vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.

Greig explains: “This means we can offer people a one-stop-shop for all their flooring needs, so they can get everything under one roof, whether its carpet for the living room, vinyl for the kitchen and even artificial grass for the garden.

“And because we started life as an online retailer in 2012 and have grown our e-commerce platform, it means we can offer online pricing to people visiting our physical stores.”

Whenever it opens at a new location, Flooring Superstore reaches out to local charities or organisations in need of support, via its corporate social responsibility programme.

Greig adds: “We’re always happy to make donations of flooring to local good causes as our way of giving something back to areas where we receive such fantastic support through our stores.

“So, we would love to hear from charities, voluntary organisations or groups doing great work in the Carlisle community who may need flooring for a particular project.”
