Instantprint, the UK’s largest online printing company, is expanding into a new state-of-the-art production facility at its headquarters in Rotherham.
After 4 years of calling Manvers, Rotherham home, instantprint is ploughing ahead with plans to extend its manufacturing facility into a neighbouring unit, which will increase its total footprint by 45%, from 86,900 sq ft to 145,000 sq. ft, paving the way for continuing growth into 2020.
The business was founded 10 years ago by James Kinsella and Adam Carnell – it has grown to become the country’s biggest producer of printed products, predominantly supplying businesses and consumers with flyers, booklets, business cards and posters.
Instantprint has seen sales of business cards alone rise by 195% in the last five years with demand now being so high for the custom stationery that six business cards must be produced every second at the Rotherham site.
Over the past five years, more than £20million has been invested and the company has a projected turnover of £42million for 2018.
The £3.5million renovation on the newly purchased neighbouring facility at Brookfields Park in Manvers will begin during the next month and will run through to early 2020.
It will see the new premises combined with the existing instantprint HQ, creating one giant facility, which will help cater for increased demand and will enable instantprint to streamline turnaround times on booklets and large format printing, expanding and enhancing its offering to clients.
The business employs more than 200 people and is on a recruitment drive to fulfil various production roles within the expanded premises as is it seeks to continue its impressive growth by recruiting up to 40 new jobs by the end of the summer.

“When we first moved into the building in 2015 it seemed vast, but with the investment in new equipment the space has been filling up quickly. The additional production space will allow the business to fulfil its growing demand and add new products to the current line-up”.
The business also has plans to install the ground-breaking Landa S10P Nanographic Printing® Press by the end of the year, which combines the speed of a digital printer with the cost-efficiency of a litho printer.
This will be the first Landa in the UK and reflects Instantprint’s dedication to delivering quality print quickly to our customers.
The firm merged with fast-growing print experts, Bluetree Design & Print Ltd in 2012. The group moved to bigger Rotherham premises in 2015 when funding from Barclays and the Sheffield City Region Growth Fund Programme enabled the company to move Brookfields Park in Manvers.
