Admiral Taverns calls for local licensees to take on a Merseyside pub

Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub Group, is hosting an open day this week at which it will showcase a community pub in Merseyside, in order to attract potential and existing licensees who are looking to take on an exciting new venture.

The open day, which will take place at The River View, Birkenhead will provide a chance for would be pub operators to learn more about the opportunities available to them to run their own pub business in their local area.

Admiral Taverns takes a unique approach in the sector, championing community pub operators and empowering them to run their own pub business to the best of their ability.
The Group’s team of highly experienced business development managers know the pub industry and the local area inside out and work hard to build supportive relationships with their licensees, helping them to optimise their business, introduce new elements to their pub offer and put their pub forward for the Admiral investment programme.

Commenting on the open day, Sally Sheil, Business Development Manager for the area said: “The tenanted pub model is a great, lower-risk, lower-cost route for individuals to run their own business, with their own accommodation, right in the heart of their community. The River View is just one example of a great community pub with fantastic potential in need of a talented, motivated licensee who can put their stamp on the business and make it their own.”

For potential licensees who are completely new to the industry, Admiral Taverns has launched the Business Support Agreement, which provides first-time pub entrepreneurs with bespoke training, support and a portfolio of products over the crucial start-up period.

The experiences of the industry demonstrate that too many businesses fail because new licensees are not given the level of support and guidance they need in the crucial early months to set them on a path to long term success. The BSA covers the vital first months, but starts well before the licensee steps over the threshold of their first Admiral pub.

Sally Sheil added: “I would urge anyone who is considering a career running their own pub business to join us on the open day. The River View is a fantastic pub with great potential and perfect for an ambitious license who wants to develop the pub into a hub for the local community, with a supportive pub company partner behind them.”
