AlphaBiolabs has launched operations in the United States as the testing firm steps up its overseas expansion drive.
Warrington-based AlphaBiolabs has established a presence in Florida, with the opening of a sales and administration office in Clearwater backed by an order fulfilment facility, a dedicated US website and payment platforms.
AlphaBiolabs, which performs the DNA tests for ITV’s The Jeremy Kyle Show, has invested £250,000 initially and worked with various UK government departments to set up its Florida operation.
The company is initially offering ‘peace of mind’ DNA relationship testing across the US, Canada and Mexico through its Florida base, with plans to expand the range of services it provides over the next few years.
Its DNA relationship services include paternity, maternity, sibling, twin, grandparent, Y chromosome, aunt and uncle testing.
Laboratory testing for the American market will be performed at the company’s Warrington headquarters, initially with a turnaround time of between three and five days for DNA test results for US-based customers.
In the UK, AlphaBiolabs is known for its rapid DNA, drug and alcohol testing, offering results as quickly as the same working day. The company was recognised for its speedy turnaround times with a Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2016.
The US launch comes just months after AlphaBiolabs expanded into Ireland with a dedicated website and office in Dublin.

“With a potential reach of over 320 million people, our new Florida operation gives us the opportunity to expand our business exponentially over the next few years.”
Rachel, pictured, said strong direct air links to Manchester also played a part in the company’s choice of location for its latest overseas expansion, along with language and cultural similarities.
She added: “With full logistical capabilities in the US, backed by investment in our UK headquarters with a new IT system, additional staff and equipment, we are well-prepared for our expansion into North America.
