With a number of developments across Wirral, Bellway has made a monetary donation to Wirral Ark to help the homeless in the region in the coming weeks and months.
Committed to giving back to the local community, and with a selection of three and four bedroom homes under construction at Arrowe Brook Park plus two, three and four bedroom homes at Jellicoe Gardens, a team member at Bellway selected the charity, which was established in 1991.
Wirral Ark is a charity that supports hundreds of people each year who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through its accommodation, professional services, and a compassionate ear, it helps individuals achieve good and real outcomes for themselves. Since Wirral Ark’s inception in 1991, the charity has accommodated over 5,166 homeless people and has provided healthcare to 3,444.
Paul Hardman, CEO at Wirral Ark, comments: “We are incredibly grateful for the donation Bellway has contributed to our charity, which will allow us to keep making a difference in the community.
“Now more than ever we are aware of an increased level of need from very desperate people who are on the brink of homelessness. Together with the reduction in Universal Credit and the end of furlough, it risks being a perfect storm that could have a devastating effect in Wirral. Therefore, the support received from businesses makes a huge difference to our ability to provide safe shelter for those most in need, at such a dangerous time for anyone homeless or at risk of becoming so.”
