Bellway site manager wins Pride in the Job award

Gavin Flannery at The Vistas

Bellway Homes’ senior site manager Gavin Flannery is the proud recipient of a National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job award for excellence in site management at The Vistas on Collingwood Way in Westhoughton near Bolton.

In existence for more than 35 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site mangers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges are looking for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities that set award winning site managers apart from the rest.

A truly exemplary site manager, Gavin, who is also from Westhoughton, has worked in the construction industry for more than 22 years, starting off as an apprentice joiner before moving into site management 18 years ago. He has won a total of 10 NHBC awards for his work during his career but is delighted with this one as it is his first for Bellway and comes in his first 12 months with the leading housebuilder.

He commented: “It is great to be recognised for doing a good job and I am delighted to receive a Pride in the Job award within my first year at Bellway. It is testament to the ongoing hard work and continued commitment of the whole team here at The Vistas that we have been able to work seamlessly together to deliver high quality new homes for our customers.”

Construction director at Bellway Homes, Paul Wright, added: “The Pride in the Job award is one of the most highly regarded accolades for site managers in the housebuilding industry and it takes leadership, hard work and a continued commitment to only the highest standards of quality to be recognised by the NHBC. It’s great news for Gavin and his team.”
