A Bolton firm swapped finance and sales for fun and games at a recent fundraising event for local charity Bolton Lads and Girls Club (BLGC).
Hilton Smythe Group, which is a silver tier patron of the charity, raised £500 for BLGC, which provides out of school activities for young people in the area.
The firm held its annual Yellow and Blue day, in honour of the charity’s signature colours, and presented a variety of quizzes and games, including an opportunity to throw wet sponges at the management team, and sold cakes and treats to raise money.
The highlight of the day came when Sales Negotiator Kai Pollitt-Parry raised £182.00 by having his chest waxed.
Craig Graham, Managing Director at Hilton Smythe Group said: “We are proud patrons of BLGC and were delighted to hand over another £500 to the charity after a fun day was had by all.
“It is essential that small businesses like ourselves support local charities, to give back to the community and help the next generation of Bolton kids.”
Craig added: “Special thanks to Kai who joins the legion of Hilton Smythe guys who have had hair removed for charity. It’s become something of a tradition now, and he’s a braver man than me to give it a go.”
Karen Edwards OBE, Chief Executive of the Bolton Lads and Girls Club, said: “Bolton Lads and Girls Club provides a valuable service to young people in the region, teaching them essential skills and providing them with a safe and fun environment to spend time in outside of school. We couldn’t provide this without the support of businesses like Hilton Smythe Group.”
