Bruntwood Works begins major refurbishment at Leeds’ West Gate

Bruntwood Works is embarking on a major refurbishment project at its West Gate building in Leeds, which will be bought to life for prospective customers through cutting-edge 3D technology.

The property, which is located in the commercial West End district, will see a total of 34,373 sq. ft transformed across the fourth, fifth and sixth floors, along with a striking new reception area and external canopy.

In addition to providing customers with a range of high-quality amenities, the refurbishments will also include the creation of a new on-site fitness suite, where Bruntwood customers will have access to a programme of virtual fitness classes from world-renowned online fitness provider, Les Mills, along with new showers, changing facilities and cycle storage.

The sixth-floor refurbishment will be completed by Easter 2019, with the remaining works due for completion in the Summer.

The space will be marketed by bringing it to life using innovative, cutting edge 3D modelling technology – the first of its kind to be made available on the Leeds office market. Using interactive planning tool ‘Floored Plans’, prospective customers will be able to create a virtual replication of their ideal workspace and a 3D walk-through of the space with accurate panoramic views.

These ‘test-fits’ are designed to illustrate the range of options and possibilities available at West Gate.

Nick Salkeld, Bruntwood’s Head of Commercial for Leeds, said: “We want to empower the businesses with the ability to envisage how they will fit in the newly refurbished space, how they will live in it and optimise it. By using the latest technology, we can evidence just how flexible our workspaces are and how they can be tailored to meet the specific needs of individual businesses.

“This is the second time our innovative marketing approach has introduced pioneering technology to the city. We were the first in Leeds to use VR in marketing commercial property when we launched Platform 12 months before building works were complete. We’ve had a tremendous response when we’ve used ‘Floored Plans’ at buildings elsewhere and we are confident it will add value to the experience for West Gate, where we can demonstrate Bruntwood’s collaborative approach to customer office design.”

Bruntwood has pledged its ongoing commitment to investing in Leeds and evolving its workspace offering to serve the needs of modern businesses in the city. The property company’s Leeds portfolio includes its landmark Platform building, home to the city’s newest tech hub.
