Business Growth Hub, part of Manchester Growth Company (MGC), is celebrating two of its brightest talents being honoured at the Made in Manchester Awards 2017. The Skills Company, another division of MGC, was also honoured at the event.

The event, organised by future-pro Manchester and held at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate, commends the best of Manchester’s business talent under 35.

Katie Peate, head of creative, digital and tech at the Hub, was awarded Digital, Media or Creative Professional of the Year. Winning this category reflects Katie’s commitment to personal and professional development as well as deployment of her leadership skills.

Katie’s colleague at the Hub, Andy Hall, mentoring development executive, took home the Mentor of the Year prize. This award was open to individuals of all ages who have shown support to the next generation of business professionals. Andy received the prize in tribute to his work over the past year in providing support and advice to junior colleagues to improve their confidence and ability.

The Hub supports growing and ambitious businesses across Greater Manchester, delivering a wide range of business support services.

Roman Dibden from The Skills Company won the Recruitment Professional of the Year award, and was then chosen from all the individual winners to take the Chairman’s Rising Star Award. Roman, who works on the company’s schools engagement team, was commended by the judges for his role as an ambassador for other apprentices, and acting as a shining role model for young students facing challenges in the Manchester area.

Richard Jeffery, director of business growth at the Hub commented: “I’d like to congratulate Katie, Andy and Roman on collecting these awards, all of which are testament to their excellent achievements over the past year. These honours are also recognition of the great work the company is doing in developing the best talent across Greater Manchester, while also supporting the wider business interests of the region.”

Other winners on the evening included young talent from Barclays, BNY Mellon, Cartwright Group, Deloitte, GCA Altium, Hall Brown Family Law, Sedulo, SkyParlour, Surface Wall Finished Ltd and theEword.
