Businesses of Huddersfield invited to compete against each other in Kirkwood Hospice’s ‘It’s a Knockout’

The businesses of Huddersfield are being invited to team up and compete against each other in the ultimate bonding challenge – ‘It’s a Knockout’ – to raise funds for Kirkwood Hospice.

Taking place on Saturday 15th September at DRAM Sports and Community Centre in Dalton, the action-packed event is due to attract over 180 participants, all competing against each other in a bid to be crowned business champions.

Organisations will go head-to-head in a series of crazy games – hurling themselves over giant inflatables and getting covered in over 5,000 litres of foam and water – all while raising vital funds for patient care.

The team left standing at the end of the day will be presented with the top trophy.

Companies wanting to embrace their competitive side are being encouraged to enter well-ahead of the day.

Ridley and Hall, Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, Direct Blinds and SB Homes are some of the firms already signed up to compete, while Meltham-based manufacturer Rosenbauer UK is set to provide a fire truck which will supply the 5,000 litres of water.

Kate Leadbeater said: “It’s a Knockout is a well-remembered comedy TV classic, which has been brought to life by Graham Fisher’s International for over 30 years. It’s a fun, entertaining event that you can’t help but laugh at and enjoy. We’re delighted by the teams who’ve already signed up and are looking forward to the tough – but light-hearted – competition on the day.”

Entry costs £100 per team of 10, and each group must pledge to raise a minimum of £600 in sponsorship. Participants must be aged 16 or above.
