Director of Marketing and Communications at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Abby McClymont comments: “We can’t quite believe that we have won but would like to thank everyone that voted for us – we really appreciate this opportunity. We have been attending the Buy Yorkshire Conference since the very beginning, and have always found it greatly beneficial and a fantastic opportunity for us to network with Yorkshire businesses and raise our profile within the corporate sector.”

She continues: “As a Yorkshire Charity we pride ourselves on keeping as much of the monies raised in Yorkshire within the region, so it’s a great way for us to meet contacts that we can also help to support. We are really looking forward to the conference in May.”

Director of Fundraising for Martin House Children’s Hospice, Jodie Shepherd comments: “We are delighted to have been chosen as one of the partner charities for this year’s Buy Yorkshire Conference. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the services Martin House offers to families across the region and we are looking forward to the generous sponsorship package to raise the profile of the charity and encourage new support.”

Jodie continues: “On behalf of our children and young people, and their families, thank you to all who voted for Martin House.”

The challenge awarded the two charities that had registered and generated the most votes with a Gold Sponsorship Package however the unprecedented interest has led to the organisers of the Buy Yorkshire Conference extending the competition for a further week to give FIVE additional organisations the chance to win an exhibition stand at the event worth £1,400.

Managing Director of iSource Group and the Yorkshire Mafia, Geoff Shepherd comments: “We are so pleased to announce these two truly outstanding charities as the winners of the Challenge. The response was simply phenomenal and we want to thank everyone for taking part.

“It has become increasingly apparent during this process that there are so many other charities that are also in need of our support and for this reason, we have decided to extend voting in order to offer 5 further charities the opportunity to feature at the leading and largest business to business event in the North.”

Charities that registered to take part in the Challenge can continue to encourage votes from their supporters with the final five winners to secure an exhibition stand at the Buy Yorkshire Conference to be announced on Tuesday 14 March.

The Buy Yorkshire Conference, which takes place on the 16 and 17 May, is the largest business to business exhibition to take place in the North. It attracts 185 exhibitors and more than 5,000 delegates, bringing globally recognised talent to the stage to give visitors the chance to meet, learn and share.
