Carringtons Catering Welcomes Boost to Liverpool’s Conferencing Culture Following City’s Award Wins

A North West catering firm is celebrating the success of Liverpool’s rising conference culture.

Directors of award-winning Carringtons Catering Helen and Darren Wynn have noticed a significant growth in demand for the firm’s corporate catering offering in the city, having witnessed an increased turnover of 300% during its busiest February to date.

During the month, the team catered to a number of high-profile events including Everton in the Community’s 30th birthday dinner celebrations alongside large-scale conferences and day delegate packages, boardroom lunches and networking events to name a few.

The news comes after Liverpool Convention Bureau was awarded ‘Bronze’ in the Best UK Convention Bureau category and ACC Liverpool crowned ‘Gold’ in the Best UK Conference Centre shortlist at this year’s Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards.

Helen said: “As we’re well in to Liverpool’s tenth year since being crowned European Capital of Culture, the city continues to rival major European cities in terms of tourism, cultural and event offerings and it’s fantastic to see the innovative approach we are so well known for filter through to our corporate offering.

“Our delegates want something that is far more inspiring than the traditional function-room and buffet set up and are choosing to opt for venues that are motivating rather than mundane. We’re operating in a space where there is so much choice in terms of hospitality and it’s fantastic for the city as a whole and for the catering businesses operating within it to be recognised as strong contenders against bigger regions such as London by nationwide awarding bodies.”

In recent months, Carringtons Catering has hosted events at spaces including Sefton Park Palm House and Liverpool Town Hall, welcoming guests from across the country and even the globe to unique landmark settings and hidden gems alike to showcase what they have on offer.

Darren added: “Those working in hospitality will know that traditionally, the start to the year often slows down following the hectic festive season, but we are thrilled to say that so far we have catered for a plethora of events and there is no sign of slowing down. Already, we have received a high volume of enquiries that have been turned over into confirmed events for the team – there’s certainly lots to look forward to during the remainder of 2018.”
