Celloglas wows at National Expo with Show-stopping Couture Dresses

This month sees an exciting development for Leeds based Celloglas as they use the opportunity of the Retail Design Expo on 8th/9th May to re-introduce Mirri, a brand of Celloglas, to the retail market, with a new visual identity and a show-stopping stand.

A new corporate identity has been revealed to reflect Mirri being a brand of many faces, focused on its predominant use in the luxury retail market. The stand will display over 30 different substrates that a variety of Mirri finishes has been used on, to highlight its versatility on different materials and to showcase its range of metallic finishes that can be applied to most POS substrates. Substrates on show will include Micron Boxboard, Foam PCV, MDF, Foam-X, E Flute Corrugated, Dispa, Polycarbonate and many many more, showcasing finishes such as Mirri Brushed Aluminium, Mirri H Copper, Mirri Silk Green, Mirri Stardust, Mirri Blanco Shimmer and Mirri Eco AG.

The team also had a surprise up their sleeve which gave their stand a unique feel of a couture runway after the team commissioned fashion and textile designer Jule Waibel to produce some showstopper pieces. Waibel, a German designer based in London and Stuttgart, produced two dresses using her unique folding techniques. The first was created using large format 240g Mirri Brushed Aluminium. The second was on large format 240g Mirri Holographi09c Rainbow, upon which Celloglas printed a colourful pattern, supplied by Jule, on to the material. The combination of the material and the print made for a striking aesthetic illustrating the creativity that can be achieved with Mirri.

Mark Askham, Mirri Business Development Manager said: “We are looking forward to inspiring people about the varied uses of Mirri, and illustrating that Mirri is much more than ‘a silver paper’- which is what we hear so often as historically this is how the majority of clients have used it. We know it increases shelf appeal and provides powerful POS as we already work with leading high street shores and FMCG and luxury brands to help them achieve this.”

Celloglas are keen to really highlight to the retail market that the joy of Mirri comes in its tactile as well as its visual appeal after research from The Retail Institute confirmed that touching an object with material properties generates an emotional response which is then used as information in the decision making process.

Mirri, a brand of Celloglas is widely recognised worldwide by brands, retailers and designers as a tool to communicate quality, innovation and brand category leadership. For more information see http://www.mirri.co.uk/
