The CEO of a leading local chemical company has pledged a £6,000 annual donation to a rugby club close to his heart.

Airedale Group is sponsoring post-match shirts for Bradford Salem Rugby Club and financially supporting the club’s development and expansion.

The group’s CEO, Chris Chadwick, explains why the club holds special meaning for him, his family and the family business:

“My family and I were brought up within a stone’s throw of Bradford Salem with some of them living in houses overlooking the pitch. It was my grandfather Brian, the founder of Airedale, who contributed towards the club’s first proper clubhouse and Airedale Chemical features on a commemorative plaque behind the bar marking the first game from the new clubhouse in 1976.

“When the opportunity arose for us to be able to support the club again, we leapt at the chance and are looking forward to being able to make a difference to this fantastic community group.”

Neil Klenk, Chairman of Salem Rugby Club, adds: “This is an exciting time for the club and the support from Airedale Group will help with some great initiatives we have planned such as expanding and improving our facilities and increasing participation in the sport, particularly amongst the girls and juniors teams. We have a rich history, playing our first match in 1924 and support from businesses like Airedale Group mean we can continue to be a much-needed and well-loved community resource.

“Some of the Airedale Group team are also involved with the club, both on the pitch and behind the scenes so the connection between the two companies is well-established.”

Airedale Group is one of the UK’s leading chemical companies with customers across Europe and the rest of the world, supplying essential chemicals and services to industries including food and beverage, water treatment, oil and gas, waste and recycling and manufacturing.
