Salford Chiropractic clinic expands in new premises after buyout

A long-established north west chiropractic clinic with growing patient numbers has expanded with a move to bigger premises after undergoing a buyout.

Founder Scott Middleton has sold Salford Chiropractic Clinic for an undisclosed sum to associate Lindsay Beardsworth, who joined the practice in 2004.

The clinic, opened by Scott in 1984, was previously based at Sorrel Bank House on Bolton Road and has now moved to St James’s House on Pendleton Way.

It mainly treats private patients but also sees people referred by the NHS.

Following the move, Lindsay has introduced acupuncture, podiatry and homeopathy as additional disciplines.

Her team of associates now includes chiropractor Patrick Langham, acupuncturists Emma Guy and Tina Clegg, podiatrist Lindsay Hill and homeopath Sophie Williams.

Between them they have more than 50 years’ experience in their specialist fields and are treating over 200 patients a week, including professional sportsmen and women, children, the elderly and expectant mums.

New owner Lindsay said: “With three treatment rooms as opposed to one previously, we are able to offer a wider range of health disciplines and to open for longer hours, including late evenings until 9pm.

“I’m delighted to welcome our new associates, whom I have known professionally for many years and who are all expert practitioners in their specialist fields.
“I’m passionate about the work we do and offering the highest-quality care. Our patients see this and that’s why we are so busy. Most come to us through recommendations, which is the biggest compliment of all.

“I often see three generations from the same family, and some patients travel from as far afield as Birmingham, the Lake District and Devon to see us.”

Chiropractors are often consulted by patients suffering with back, neck and joint pain, headaches, muscle spasm and cramp.

Lindsay said the type of patients she treats daily varies greatly.

“It’s hugely satisfying to see a lady become headache-free after suffering from them for five years, a martial arts expert who’s been unable to train for six months recover after two treatments, a patient who comes in bent double with acute lower back pain and leaves straight, and women recovering from back pain during their pregnancies. That’s why I love what I do.”

She said the clinic’s new base offers scope to expand further, with plans to introduce sports therapy later this year.
