Commercial Kitchen and Bar Appointed to Design Kala

Commercial Kitchen and Bar, the Manchester-based hospitality design, supply and project management company, has been appointed to undertake the architectural design and refurbishment of upcoming Manchester restaurant, Kala.

Kala, the latest of restaurateur Gary Usher’s string of critically acclaimed Elite Bistros, is set to open on Manchester’s King Street in May. Commercial Kitchen and Bar will be managing all aspects of architectural design and project management of the build, in accordance with Usher’s vision.

Raju W. Haider, whose Manchester-based company quickly progressed from fabricating bespoke stainless steel and catering equipment for restaurant kitchens into design, project management and consultancy for all aspects of the hospitality industry, has also managed the design projects for Hispi, Wreckfish and Pinion of the Elite Bistros group. Citing simplicity and humility as the core focus for both sites, Kala will follow suit with a relaxed, rustic aesthetic, with walnut, brass, concrete and emerald tones running throughout the interior.

Renowned for his record-breaking crowdfunding campaigns, Gary Usher launched his most ambitious crowdfunder yet on March 11th at 9pm to raise the required £100k to fund Kala. Breaking a world record, the full 100k amount was raised in just 11 hours.
