Company founder to undertake doctorate alongside new role at global business

Business transformation consultant and founder of The Inniti Effect, Alexandra Poole, has been accepted to complete a Doctorate at Cranfield University.

The research, which will be undertaken to investigate the combined impact of Lean Thinking and Industry 4.0 on the Logistics and Supply Chain Management performance of organisations operating in the retail e-commerce sector, aligns with her new role as Director of Lean at global retailer ASOS.

Alexandra qualified as a Lean Practitioner through the University of Cardiff and holds a Batchelor of Arts degree in Business Studies from the University of Lincoln. She has also completed a ‘Women in Leadership’ scholarship for an Executive Masters of Business at the University of Hull with her dissertation focusing on the effects and opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution technologies.

Additionally, she is a Chartered Manager accredited through the Chartered Management Institute and regularly speaks for the UK Young Enterprise Company awards encouraging children into the business. She is also a keen member of the ‘Lean In’ movement, championing gender equality and providing women to women mentoring.

Alexandra will still continue to manage The Inniti Effect, alongside her new role at ASOS, where she has been recruited to support its business growth objectives and to encourage the business to achieve maximum efficiency through Lean thinking.

Alexandra said: “Although there is much research into Lean, and Industry 4.0 respectively, there is no research that examines the relationship between them both, in the context of increasing logistics and supply chain performance within e-commerce. I am so thrilled to be working with the world-class and like-minded individuals at Cranfield University to develop meaningful research that will inspire the industry for years to come, and using the insight within my new position at ASOS”.
