Contact Centre Sees Overwhelming Volunteer Turnout for Sport Relief

A few of the volunteers at ResQ in Hull gearing up for Sport Relief Friday 13th

ResQ, a contact centre specialist with two sites in Seaham and Hull will be supporting Comic Relief by taking calls and processing donations throughout the Sport Relief evening on Friday 13th March.

Many of the staff at both Hull and Seaham sites will be giving up their free time after completing a full shift in order to serve the public by processing their donations for Sport Relief.

ResQ, named by PwC as a “disruptor” in their industry have had no trouble getting over 170 enthusiastic members of staff to sign up. The company’s commitment to employee engagement and wellbeing has earned them a Best Companies 1-star rating and is wholly mirrored in the attitude of their staff who can’t wait to lend a hand in the name of charity.

The night of Sport Relief, Friday 13th of March will see ResQ in their element. Both sites in Seaham and Hull will have a live interactive leaderboard, generating enthusiasm in the atmosphere for their staff to take as many calls as possible. Surrounded by Sport Relief bunting and posters, with everyone wearing their gym kits and dinner provided by the company, staff are sure to have an energetic, fun-filled evening, despite working a full shift penultimate to the event.

Due to regulatory changes, Sport Relief now requires all their participating contact centres to be fully Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant and provide an Attestation of Compliance, or a Report of Compliance. Having recently secured their PCI reaccreditation, ResQ jumped at the opportunity to support the great work of Sport Relief.

Comic Relief Workplace Fundraising Manager, Ali Styles commented, “Our Night of TV call centres are a hugely important part of the Sport Relief family and we couldn’t do it without the amazing companies that volunteer to help us. We are so grateful to ResQ for supporting us this year.”

Chief Operations Officer at ResQ, Gill Marchbank said, “Many people perceive contact centres to be dreary uninspiring places, with staff ‘chained’ to their desks by headsets in an underpaid and under-valued environment. Any member of our staff will tell you that this is not the case at ResQ – our people are our number one priority and the number of staff volunteering to stay through until midnight to support Sport Relief is a testament to their commitment to ResQ.

On behalf of the senior leadership team, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the ResQ staff who have volunteered their time. I hope they feel proud to be helping to change lives here in the UK and around the world.”

If you’re able to donate this year, please pick up the phone on the night and call 03457 910 910. You could be lucky enough to speak to one of ResQ’s amazing staff on Friday 13th March.
