The Countrywide Retail Property Management team are thrilled to be the first property lettings agency to partner with Heroes4Hire Handymen via Bridgfords and Entwistle Green Lettings in Manchester and Cheshire.

Heroes4Hire Handymen helps former Forces Veterans get back into work and brings together the work ethic, skills and attention to detail of ex-servicemen and women. The ex-servicemen and women will carry out a broad range of services for Countrywide from daily repair jobs, to end of tenancy property health checks and property preparation.

Over the last 6 months Countrywide has been working with Heroes4Hire to create a maintenance concept that is easy and straightforward for landlords and tenant customers. Each Handyman undergoes a five week residential training course covering decorating, joinery, plumbing, building, plastering and much more.

The roll out programme began this month with local Handymen based in Greater Manchester, South Manchester & Cheshire, followed by a 12 month national roll out so that more customers of Countrywide will benefit from the innovative maintenance service.

Kim Lidbury, Director of Retail Property Management at Countrywide said: “This is one of the most exciting contractor projects we have been involved in, as not only is this a brilliant and worth-while business concept for ex-service men and women, but we are confident this will help us offer a great service to our landlords. Securing good quality, professional contractors, who offer an excellent standard of workmanship at a reasonable price is at the forefront of the minds of Countrywide Lettings. This partnership fits perfectly with our company ethics of putting our customer at the heart of everything that what we do.”

Ex-serviceman Nigel Blanchard founded Heroes4Hire-Handymen in which ex-servicemen and women are professionally trained as handymen by their charity partner Building Heroes, and are able to carry out a wealth of property maintenance jobs to a very high standard.
