Cowgill Holloway joins forces with Department for International Trade

Cowgill Holloway and the Department for International Trade will come together on Wednesday 18th October to host a new International Trade Event – Successfully trading overseas in today’s international landscape.

Within the breakfast seminar, guests will hear from international trade expert David Wright from the Department of International Trade, Lisa Wilson from Cowgill Holloway, and a panel of successful businesses from the region, including manufacturer Duo Packaging’s director Dale Brimelow, who will share their own candid export stories.

Speaking about the event, Duo Packaging director, Dale Brimelow said: “When it comes to international trade, it’s all about having confidence in your product and in your business. International trade is the same as trading domestically in many ways – a good product, at a competitive price sets you in good stead for trading overseas.

“Any business can find plenty of reasons not to start trading internationally, but in our opinion, you’ve got to take some risks and have the belief in your business and your team that you will be successful. Having said that, ensuring you have the right people in the right places can go a long way to helping your international trade journey.”

Lisa Wilson, head of tax at Cowgill Holloway, said: “The event is aimed at businesses from across the region, who are either currently exporting, or are considering starting their export journey. From trade missions to funding and the practicalities of protecting your business, we’ll cover the real risks and rewards of being an exporter for businesses considering export or looking to grow their operations overseas.”

International Trade: Successfully trading overseas in today’s international landscape, is free to attend and will take place on Wednesday 18th October from 9am – 12pm at the Museum of Science and Industry.
