Creamline delivers support for Manchester producers with Best of Local business boost

Creamline is extending a supportive hand to local companies affected by the pandemic

Trafford-based dairy and grocery home delivery service, Creamline, is set to extend a supportive hand to local companies affected by the pandemic, with the launch of its Best of Local Business Booster scheme.

With a thriving food and drink e-commerce platform and 130-strong fleet of delivery vehicles including 80 electric milk floats serving its network of over 40,000 customers, Creamline has been perfectly positioned to support the shifting consumer shopping habits created by COVID-19.

Now, the established home delivery business is set to champion up to three deserving local brands by offering them a guest spot on Creamline’s bustling Best of Local online shop, which – along with its online milk and Daily Essentials shop – delivers groceries to doorsteps across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Creamline’s Best of Local platform has built a reputation as a beautiful online marketplace of the highest quality local fare. Partner artisan businesses include Didsbury’s Little Pigs Butchers, Stockport’s Thatcher’s bakery and Didsbury’s SLAB bakery, along with the Cheshire Cheese Company and a popular local fishmonger.

When Chris Swallow, joint managing director of Creamline commented:

‘’Seeing the effect of the coronavirus on local high street businesses has been devastating. Really exciting, credible small businesses that have spent years building up a customer base have been hit terribly, as they’re reliant on footfall that just isn’t there. Even between lockdowns, it has become clear that the way people shop has changed, with people choosing to stay home and order from their sofa – since March our online sales have more than doubled.

‘’Small local business often don’t have the infrastructure to develop and support a solid e-commerce solution, or handle the logistics of delivery, when their model has been based on high-street footfall.

‘’We want to offer three stand-out food and drink suppliers the opportunity to promote their products to our incredibly loyal customer base – which we will deliver on their behalf, with the trademark Creamline gold-standard customer service.

‘’As a company we have a long history of supporting local. We’ve been delivering traditional glass bottled milk to doorsteps for over 75 years. It’s something special when you’re able to support local Cheshire farmers and help bolster community spirit by backing local producers too.

‘’Always on the lookout for ways to make customers’ lives easier and meals tastier, we’ve been thinking about how we can help more local businesses, so it’s a win-win situation. We have the infrastructure, online and on-the-ground, to help small local businesses get their products in front of the right audience.’’

The Best of Local Business Booster Scheme invites local food and drink produce suppliers to pitch for a highlighted guest spot on Creamline’s website, supported by a professional photoshoot and digital marketing campaign worth £1500.

There are three spots to be claimed, which will go live on the site at an agreed optimum time for the respective businesses. Producers simply need to head to the site, to fill in a simple entry form by 30 June date with details of the business and products.
