The North East’s biggest building society is set to open the doors at its new South Shields branch.
Newcastle Building Society has created a new full service and financial advice branch in the Denmark Centre, close to the town’s new transport interchange, as part of an ongoing multi-million-pound investment programme across its entire branch network.
Customers will get their first chance to step into the new branch, which is located at 5 Denmark Centre, at 9am on Monday 18 November, with a Christmas-themed official opening event set to follow from 11am on Thursday 5 December
The modern and welcoming environment offers customers easy access to services, information and advice across two floors, with a community space in which local people, groups and good causes can hold meetings and events also forming part of the design.
North East firm STP Construction has worked as main contractor on the project.
Newcastle Building Society is more than two thirds of the way through an ambitious branch improvement programme which will see work on new or improved facilities in every part of its existing branch network and new branches being opened in a number of locations across the North East and North Yorkshire.
