DTE Tax Clubs for accountants and tax practitioners

DTE Tax Clubs, Bury

Following the success of the last Tax Clubs, DTE Business Advisers is hosting the final series of its Tax Clubs in 2019 at the beginning of winter. This is a free lunchtime event designed to provide tax professionals and general accountancy practitioners in the North West with an overview of the latest happenings in the UK tax world. DTE’s Head of Tax Dispute Resolution, Alan McCann, has hosted the Tax Clubs for over 15 years, building a unique support network for our many regular members.

During this series of the Tax Clubs, apart from the usual co-speakers Andrew Needham from VAT Specialists Ltd (in Bury and Ellesmere Port), and Steven Howard from The VAT People (in Liverpool), there will also be two guest speakers:

  • Deborah O’Grady from Reach Commercial Finance, who will talk about alternative finance options for SMEs versus traditional methods such as bank loan/overdraft (in all 4 Tax Clubs)
  • Peter Gaunt from the Business Growth Hub, who will introduce to you the various types of fully-funded support and services that the Business Growth Hub offer to businesses in Greater Manchester, including advice on business strategy, access to finance and funding, digital and technology, staff training and retention, etc. (Bury Tax Club only)

The Tax Club also counts towards attendees’ annual requirement for Structured CPD hours.

The event takes place in a relaxed open discussion format, giving attendees the opportunity to get involved in discussion, share knowledge and experience. Specialist guest speakers also offer an insight into more cutting-edge topics.

Each Tax Club starts with a buffet lunch and is followed by the opportunity to engage with fellow professionals and chat in more depth with our speakers, helping establish that invaluable ‘support network’.
