Engagement for couple as they buy their first house in Hyde

Cody and Adam with Bellway's sales advisor Chris

Cody Upright and Adam Dawson, both aged 25, have two very special reasons to celebrate; they have just bought their first home together at The Old Dairy on Broadway in Hyde, and also got engaged the day they got the keys.

When collecting their keys from Bellway, Adam surprised Cody, getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. With Cody answering ‘yes’, the couple happily toasted their future together.

Cody, from Pontefract, and Adam, from Doncaster, met at Sheffield Hallam University and have been together for five years. After they graduated, the couple moved to Manchester for work, renting in Cheetham Hill and Wythenshawe, before deciding to buy their first home together.

They did lots of research online and visited several developments, learning more about Bellway and its range of properties. Having viewed a number of Bellway showhomes, they were keen to buy with Bellway as they liked the design, space and specification of the new build homes.

After visiting The Old Dairy, the couple choose the Rosewood; a charming three bedroom semi-detached home.

Cody comments: “Whilst visiting The Old Dairy we came across the Rosewood house type which was perfect for us. The contemporary open-plan kitchen and dining area, with French doors into the garden, was exactly what we wanted. The separate lounge with bay window ensures we have a room to relax and unwind in too.

“Upstairs the master bedroom is a great size and it has en suite facilities too. There are two other bedrooms and a modern bathroom, which means we have plenty of space for family and friends to stay.”

Cody and Adam settled in immediately and are already very much at home in Hyde.

Cody adds: “Having never lived in Hyde and it being new to us, we really like the area. The location is convenient for both Adam and I to commute to work and it is lovely to have a couple of local pubs nearby. There is a real sense of community and a friendly feel to the development too, and we are slowly getting to know our neighbours which is really nice.”

The couple plan to get married in 2022.

Prices at The Old Dairy start from £199,995. There is currently a selection of three bedroom semi-detached homes, as well as three and four bedroom detached homes available.
