Erudus announces new talent partnership to boost business growth

Jon Shayler, chief operating officer at Erudus with Sam Wall, founder and recruitment director at SEAO

Newcastle-based Erudus, the food industry’s solution to sharing product data, has announced a partnership with SEAO Talent Partners to assist with achieving its ambitious growth plans.

The partnership with SEAO, a specialist outsourced talent consultancy, focuses on the organisation’s careers strategy; from identifying the employer brand and message to market, to providing a suite of advertising and attraction templates with the aim to ensure Erudus gains the talent required to achieve their goals.

Erudus operates on a global level, providing food industry product data from manufacturers looking to communicate to wholesales, caterers and other industry professionals, and has an extensive client base; from small farm house kitchens right through to large brands such as British-Dutch transnational consumer goods company, Unilever, and one of the world’s most recognisable brands, Heinz.

Jon Shayler, chief operating officer at Erudus, said: “We are delighted to be working with SEAO Talent Partners and have been really impressed with the progress so far.

“Upon appointing SEAO as our talent partner, the team worked with us to identify exactly what our expectations were, in terms of the recruitment process, brand and strategy, ensuring they spent the time getting to know us as an organisation as well as understanding our specific requirements for each role.”

SEAO, which supports organisations with talent strategy, end to end recruitment, assessment centres and outplacement, aims to create long-lasting partnerships by acting as its in-house recruitment department for its clients.

The careers strategy process involved SEAO acting on Erudus’ behalf to make recommendations based on research, including holding interviews with the company’s current team members, as well as drawing from SEAO’s own in-house knowledge and experience.

Sam Wall, founder and recruitment director at SEAO, added: “It’s a real pleasure to have partnered with Erudus, a company which is so well respected in its field, and we are excited to be providing strategic support to help them achieve their exciting growth plans.

“As part of our partnership, we implemented projects such as ‘careers message to market’ in which we worked closely with the senior team to identify the employee value proposition, or EVP, and positioning as an employer of choice, and are currently working on the creation of a suite of templates for job descriptions, adverts and social media campaigns, designing the company’s candidate journey and creating recruitment policies and procedures.”

Jon continued: “The process developed by SEAO has already proven successful with the appointment of our first Newcastle based developer. Despite only being with us for a few weeks, he is settling in great and already getting stuck into some really exciting projects, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him – a testament to the newly improved candidate journey.

“The knowledge and passion already demonstrated by SEAO in the short time we have worked with them, and the ethos of the organisation to provide an in-house approach to recruitment, has been fantastic and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”

In the coming months, SEAO will be supporting Erudus in the appointment of several developer roles, with Laravel and PHP as the key areas of expertise.
