A brother and sister have both bought new homes at The Avenue, Bellway’s popular development of three and four bedroom homes on Wigan Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Kerry Serrio and her brother Josh Serrio, along with his partner Emily Picton, have purchased houses next door to each other at the development, reserving on the same day.

Kerry, who works for Bellway as a sales advisor, loves the brand and having worked for other housebuilders in the past, is impressed with the build quality and specification.

Currently living just one mile from The Avenue, Kerry wanted to sell up and move to The Avenue to be close to family and the local amenities on the development’s doorstep, as well as Bryn train station. With two dogs, Teddy and Coco, Kerry enjoys walking around the Three Sisters Recreation Area, which is just a short distance from The Avenue too.

She says: “I was ready for a change and decided to move house, with The Avenue ticking all the boxes. I am extremely close to my family so buying at the same development at the same time as Josh was incredibly exciting. We don’t move in until Autumn, but we are very much looking forward to it. When I am away, Josh helps with my dogs, and I often look after his daughter Holli, so being neighbours is perfect. Plus, Josh is a great cook!”

Josh and Emily had been looking to buy for a couple of years but never found the right house in the right location, until they came across The Avenue. The development is situated in the middle of both sets of parents, where they are currently living, and is perfectly placed close to nurseries and schools, the shops and transport links.

Josh says: “We were instantly attracted to The Avenue. The properties are beautiful and when we looked around the Rosewood showhome, we fell in love. We decided to buy that particular house type and have mirrored the interior design of the showhome, copying many of the colours, style of kitchen and even the same tiles!”

Kerry also bought a Rosewood, commenting: “I love the Rosewood house type; it’s beautiful with a spacious lounge and a fabulous open-plan kitchen and dining room, which is ideal for entertaining. I can’t wait to make a start in my South facing garden and build a gin shed – its all about having social spaces at home!”

Josh concludes: “Kerry and I are siblings but we’re also best friends and I can’t wait to live next door to her. I love to cook so am looking forward to having some friends round, and it is also our first family home together so it will be exciting to start that new chapter of our lives too.”

The Avenue is situated on Wigan Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield. There is currently a selection of three and four bedroom homes available, with prices starting from £184,995.
