‘Father of marketing’ Professor Phillip Kotler comes to Harrogate for inaugural World Marketing Summit

For the first time in a decade, renowned marketing thought leader Professor Phillip Kotler is returning to the UK as Harrogate hosts the inaugural World Marketing Summit.

On the 18th of November, Professor Phillip Kotler will be speaking at the Harrogate Convention Centre to share his industry insights from over 50 years in the field. He will be leading a session on ‘Marketing in the 21st Century’, exploring what the future holds for marketing.

Alongside a spectacular lineup of expert speakers from across the industry, including ‘Father of Branding’, Professor David Aaker, Kotler will be advising delegates on how to survive and thrive in increasingly uncertain marketplaces. These teachings are paramount for businesses in today’s climate, contending with post-Brexit uncertainty, constant digital evolution and a rise in environmentally-conscious consumers to consider.

Organised by Kotler’s World Marketing Summit Group, the event has run in 19 countries over the last year, including Japan, Canada and Italy, with Harrogate joining as the latest and first UK location in a string of successful summits. Hand-picked for its reputation as one of the happiest places to live in the UK and for its spa town heritage, Harrogate stood out to the organisers as the ‘gem of the UK’ and was chosen above major cities. With global partners including Fujifilm, Nestlé and Lexus as well as Harrogate-based digital marketing agency, Extreme, the event puts Harrogate on the map as a marketing hotspot.

It’s an incredible opportunity for businesses to learn from a master of marketing, especially those in the private and third sectors, and a chance for university students to build upon the fundamental marketing principles they’re taught with real-world application.
