DV8 Sandbach, the town’s premier cocktail bar and part of the unique and award-winning Deviate Bar Group, celebrated their first birthday on Saturday 18th November with more than 500 people attending the event. The bar hosted live music and unveiled its new cocktail menu as well as a range of other activities during the evening.
Exactly one year after directors Chris & Charlotte Carsons, Stephanie Chaddock and Martin Holmes restored and re-opened the establishment in November 2016, the bar held a ‘re-birthday’ party and welcomed hundreds of visitors throughout the evening.
The celebrations included a statuesque ice luge, which was designed around the DV8 logo and made bespoke for the event, as well as live DJ set from Resident DJ, Alex James. Those in attendance had the chance to win exclusive CDs from the DJ as well as other free giveaways throughout the evening.
DV8 also revealed an exclusive birthday cocktail called the ‘Birthday Cake Collins’, a creamy vanilla cocktail topped with cream, hundreds and thousands and a candle which was only available to customers during the event and proved to be the most popular cocktail with over 100+ sales on the night.

The bar offers more than 100 luxury cocktails, each served with unique garnishes, the cocktails have been a huge hit with locals who have made DV8 their go-to venue for drinks and dining in the Sandbach area.
The pub and bar group restored the much-loved 16th century ‘black bear’ building to its former glory in 2016 by reinstating the character of the property by rebuilding the original chimneys and having the building and beams carefully painted in their original colours as well as other internal and external renovations. The pub and bar group has now created a welcoming and ambient atmosphere for all, with a modern twist in the food and drink offering.
The group now own and operate four pubs, bars and night venues across East Cheshire and have recently been awarded the title of ‘Business of the Year’ by East Cheshire’s Chamber of Commerce. Their pubs include the carefully restored DV8 bars in Sandbach and Congleton, popular Tiki style bars, Rumba in Congleton and Macclesfield, which has recently just received the Great British Pub Award for Best Turnaround Bar 2017.
