Flexible working booms in Leeds City Centre

Professionals seeking more flexible working arrangements are driving a boom in demand for serviced office space in Leeds City centre, according to office provider Gilbanks.

The premium office provider reports its longest waiting list for offices at One Park Row and is seeking additional space across the North of England to meet demand. It is also launching a new Membership club for individuals who want a base in the city centre for meetings and work.

The memberships cost from £300 a month and offer access to the club lounge at One Park Row and discounts on meeting rooms.

Commenting on the trend, Alex Duckett, managing director of Gilbanks, said: “It’s encouraging to see the high level of demand for workspace in the city centre. Professionals are looking for more flexible ways of working, and it’s driving many companies to step away from long-term leases. With the launch of our membership offer, we are providing a new way to support the business community.”

Flexible leases allow companies to expand or shrink the number of desks they need to ensure their office doesn’t become a brake on growth. Businesses pay only for space they need in a serviced office and come with desks, IT and all operational facilities which mean tenants can simply plug and play. It can free up cash to facilitate other routes of expansion.

Gilbanks at One Park Row has created a diverse professional business community than spans technology to private equity.
