A fast-growing flooring retailer has pledged to support a Stockport-based charity which supports vulnerable and marginalised women.
Kay Day, Chair of Trustees at the Stockport Women’s Centre, was asked to perform the official opening of Flooring Superstore at Portwood Court, Stockport, recently.
And the store is now planning to donate flooring to the Stockport Women’s Centre.
Chris Barber, Flooring Superstore Retail Operations Manager, said: “We were delighted when the Stockport Women’s Centre accepted our offer to open our first store in the town.
“The charity does an amazing job providing services for women surviving poverty, social exclusion and sexual/domestic abuse.
“We hope this is the start of a long-term partnership with the Centre and we are already discussing how we can get the ball rolling with a donation of flooring for one of its projects.”
Kay Day, from the Stockport Women’s Centre, said: “Our mission is to support, empower and educate women to improve their mental and physical health and well-being, enabling them and their families to have improved life chances.
“We can only do this via the fantastic backing we receive from so many different areas, and this includes donations and pledges of support.
“Partnerships with local businesses are central to this and we are thrilled that Flooring Superstore have chosen to support us.”
The 4,000 square foot Flooring Superstore in Stockport (the first opened in the North West) is among 17 stores in the UK, with two more opening in Stockton and Wolverhampton in March 2020.
As well as Flooring Superstore, shoppers have access to two other flooring brands, Direct Wood Flooring and Grass Direct.
