Frenchgate’s ‘great ambassador’ wins national award

A security guard who helped save two people’s lives has won an Employee of the Year Award for his ‘fantastic actions’.

Stuart Pullen, who works at Doncaster’s  Frenchgate Shopping Centre, was chosen as Employee of the Year 2017 by ABM, the Centre’s facility maintenance and management solutions provider, after being hailed as ‘a great ambassador’.

John McPherson, Managing Director of ABM Facilities Solutions, said: “I was delighted to present Stuart with the overall ABM Employee of the Year Award for 2017 due to his fantastic actions at Frenchgate within the last year effectively saving two people’s lives in separate incidents.

“This is a magnificent achievement for Stuart – especially considering ABM have approximately 7,000 people in the UK.

“He should be really proud but what was so pleasing was to hear how humble he was – he looked on it as ‘doing his job’.

“Stuart is a great ambassador for Frenchgate and ABM, and I wish we had more like him in the business.”

Karen Staniforth, Assistant General Manager of Frenchgate, said: “We couldn’t be more proud of Stuart. He is a much-loved and valued member of staff and a true asset to the team here.

“He thoroughly deserves this award and everyone at Frenchgate is thrilled to bits for him to get recognition at this scale.”
