Frontline Healthcare, an online healthcare retail expert, has launched an NHS-contracted prescription service website to improve patient access to essential healthcare services at prescriptions.co.uk
Rochdale-based Frontline Healthcare Ltd boasts over 75 years or trading experience. This year, the company won the Ward Hadaway award for fastest growing small business in the North-West.
In 2016, Frontline Healthcare Ltd launched the online brand Chemist. It is currently in the final stages of becoming a fully-fledged online pharmacy offering private prescription services and over-the-counter products. The unique position of the flagship brand allows them to ship products to customers worldwide.
To coincide with company growth and government changes to pharmacy legislation, Frontline plan to launch Prescriptions .co .uk. The website aims to deliver 1,000,000 (1m) prescriptions per month, directly to the homes of patients. This number is an eightieth of the prescriptions issued in the UK through Hub & Spoke dispensing services.
Through safe and reliable deliveries of repeat prescriptions, Prescriptions .co .uk aims to support healthcare professionals with the rising population – the UK is projected to reach 74 million in 2039. In addition, the Old Age Dependency Ratio (OADR) rose to 285:1000 in 2016. Prescriptions .co .uk will help to provide for those in need.
Project development began in June 2018, the website has launched this month and full functionality will launch in 2019.
