North East law firm Hay & Kilner has hit the right note by adding solicitor Tom Clarke to its specialist employment law team.
After studying a music degree at Newcastle University, Tom changed his tune and went on to complete his Legal Practice Course and Graduate Diploma in Law at Northumbria University.
He is now working with employer clients on a wide range of workplace matters and is taking an active role in managing the growing number of employment tribunals in which the Newcastle-headquartered practice is acting.
Tom also works with the firm’s corporate team on business acquisitions and disposals, and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
He says: “Much of my legal training focused on employment matters and it’s an area in which I’m looking to build both my experience and my practical knowledge.
“I’m very much enjoying the variety of work that I get to do, and having the chance to help clients resolve specific issues through a live tribunal is a very interesting and stimulating challenge.”
