Henry Boot Developments completes Thorne Park scheme

Henry Boot Developments (HBD) has completed its 20-acre Thorne Park scheme in Doncaster.

The final plot of land has been acquired in a freehold sale by franchisee company, QFM Group, which operates brands such as Costa Coffee, KFC, Taco Bell and Anytime Fitness.

Thorne Park is a high specification development of over 150,000 sq ft of prime industrial and warehouse space located at Junction 6 of the M18, providing unrivalled access to the motorway and rail network.

HBD secured a £6.45 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERFF) to enable the delivery of the final phase and has since worked closely with Business Doncaster to market the scheme to potential occupiers. Tenants now include Furniture Village, Stuncroft, Boxes and Packaging, and Purex.

Vivienne Clements, Director at Henry Boot Developments, said: “This final land sale completes what has proven a very successful scheme, involving the transformation of a brownfield site into the thriving mixed-use development it is today.

“We are pleased to have been able to bring the site forward with the help of ERDF funding and the ongoing commitment of Business Doncaster. The scheme has been a real catalyst for the creation of new jobs in the area and is a valuable asset to Thorne and its local economy.”

HBD has a number of large projects underway throughout the UK, including the new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Markham Vale Derbyshire, Nexus 25 in the South East, and Kampus, a £250m mixed-use development in Manchester city centre.

The developer has also recently opened its sixth UK office in Birmingham. Its dedicated Midlands presence brings the team closer to projects underway in the region, including the redevelopment of Nottingham’s iconic Imperial Tobacco site.
