High-flying Yorkshire businesswoman launches aviation themed café bar

Yorkshire-based businesswoman, Lucie Mountain will open an aviation themed vintage café bar in Beverley, East Yorkshire on 2nd December 2017.

With more than six years’ industry experience in the food and drink sector, Lucie will offer a sneak preview of the new venture to friends, family and supporters at a VIP launch of The Cockpit Café on the 30th November.

Attendees at the VIP opening will benefit from a complimentary champagne drinks reception and live music from The Vintage Vocalist, Paula Marie.

The Cockpit Café will then be unveiled to the public at 10am on 2nd December with an official announcement by award-winning town crier, Mike Wood, with live music in the evening by local vintage songstress, Ruth Getz.

Drawing inspiration from the 1950’s and Lucie’s passion for travel, The Cockpit Café is a quirky venue serving food and drink from all over the world.

The 1950’s was a glamorous time for air travel and a holiday abroad was a luxury, so The Cockpit café wants to reflect that in its escapism concept. A key element of The Cockpit Café experience will be the 1950’s style ‘trolley dollies’ and the olde-worlde décor, transporting customers to destinations around the globe.

Partnering with independent suppliers, including Lincolnshire Brewing Company, Atom Beers and Stokes Coffee, The Cockpit Café will stock its own-brand coffee and craft ale.

In the evening, the café will transform into a bar, serving a range of unique alcoholic beverages including beer, cocktails, wines and spirits.

A former air hostess for Eastern Airways and Marketing Manager for the airline, Lucie has employed fifteen people from the local area to help bring The Cockpit Café to life. Lucie plans to employ further recruits in 2018 as The Cockpit Café makes plans to diversify its routes.

Commenting on the launch of The Cockpit Cafe, founder Lucie Mountain said:

“I wanted to create a unique atmosphere which will differentiate The Cockpit Café from other food and drink venues in Yorkshire. With a background in food and drink and travel, The Cockpit Café is an accumulation of all the things I’m passionate about and I’m looking forward to sharing these with friends, family and customers on the 2nd December.

“Offering a high-end look and feel it is a destination to be seen, to be seen in.”
