High growth entrepreneurs expand into Accelerate Places Manchester

Eight new Manchester start-ups have announced plans to move into Accelerate Places co-working space as they expand and ‘scale up’ their businesses. And they have all received funding and investment, highlighting a new wave of high growth entrepreneurs in the city.

The entrepreneurs each took part in the Entrepreneurial Spark start up programme and now they are embarking on the next stage of growth by taking space in Accelerate Places.

Businesses include pioneering technology companies Unique Insights education technology, Rezaid software developer, and Bunting retail software, fashion brands Calla Shoes specialist footwear and We Are Gntlmen menswear, retail coffee brand Cool Cold Brew, Stand4Socks social enterprise, and Lunachild Collective – a British nanny service.

The founders of these businesses are young entrepreneurs embarking on their first business ventures. Having worked together before, moving into Accelerate Places is the next step in their business growth, meaning each company can expand, recruit and develop their teams within the co-working space.

Lisa Murgatroyd, Community Manager at Accelerate Places, says: “We’re so excited to have these new entrepreneurs join our community with their dynamic and creative business ventures. Each one of them has a unique proposition, covering tech and software, fashion, food and drink, and more, and we’re in a great position to offer them a business community and professional support via Blenheim Chalcot.

“Many Manchester entrepreneurs are really driving disruption and creating a point of differentiation in the marketplace and working among other entrepreneurs in a co-working environment brings so many benefits. With us, these exciting and influential business owners can still work together as a continuation of their time at Entrepreneurial Spark but they have now have access to a broad business support programme, investors, and will work alongside entrepreneurs of all ages.

“Cool Cold Brew secured £165k on Crowdcube, and We Are Gntlmen is in the process of a crowd funding campaign, while Calla Shoes has been awarded funding from the British Design Fund and as well as financial investment, mentoring and business support is crucial to their success. We wish them all every success with their business ventures and are delighted they have chosen to join our community!”

Jamie Rawsthorne, founder of Unique Insights, says: “There’s a whole group of high growth entrepreneurs in Manchester and it’s a really exciting time to launch a new business idea. There’s a real sense of camaraderie and collaboration in co-working spaces that you wouldn’t experience if you worked from home and it’s great to be working alongside other entrepreneurs to share ideas and experiences. Everyone is really motivated, enthusiastic and here to learn and grow and Accelerate Places offers brilliant business support, a great office and meeting room space and a perfect city centre location so ticked lots of boxes.”

Accelerate Places is based on Princess Street in the city centre and offers a collaborative environment, superior on-site network, support services and access to funding – all designed to support business growth.
