High profile marketeer and business leader to join brand experts Precept

James Ealey newly appointed director of Precept

A senior marketing professional who has worked for some of the North East’s most recognisable organisations has taken a senior role at brand performance business Precept.

James Ealey has left his role as a director of NGI Solutions the commercial marketing agency spun out of Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, the public private partnership charged with delivering economic growth for the area.

He joins leading brand experts Precept as director and a member of the senior executive team where he will be working closely with founder Nick Johnson and the team to support the company’s dynamic and ambitious growth strategy which includes a significant recruitment programme.

Nick Johnson, founder of Precept that has offices in St Peter’s Marina in Newcastle and London, said: “We are thrilled to have James join the team, I’ve come to know James over the last few years and was always impressed with his knowledge, enthusiasm and integrity when doing business.

“To have him join the Precept team is a real coup for us and puts down a marker of intent of our ambition as we expand our brand performance business within our offices in both Newcastle and London. The appointment is the first in a series of appointments as we look to recruit in another four key areas across the business.

“We focus on creating more value from our clients’ brand, digital and marketing activity for all types of businesses ranging from local burger joint group The Fat Hippo, national businesses like IT solutions consultancy Forfusion and international brands such as Decathlon and SoftBank.

“James’s expertise and reputation will consolidate our strong position at the forefront of brand development and allow us to kick on.”

James is credited with skilfully guiding NGI Solutions from a standing start to a successful and respected marketing consultancy in only four years.

He said: “I’ve struck up a close working relationship with Nick who is an impressive character in his own right. Over the best part of a decade he has led the business and I’m joining the team at a time when Precept feels like an enterprise with huge expansion opportunities and great potential.

“This is exactly where I see myself adding value, developing the existing client base to create more value from Precept’s full range of services, working closely with the team to help them flourish and all with one eye on the overall strategic direction of the business. It’s definitely a challenge I am really excited about.”

As well as his time as a director at NGI Solutions James’s previous roles have included senior marketing roles at ncjMedia part of Trinity Mirror Group plc, Narrative Communications and respected law firm Ward Hadaway.
