Homebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has continued to support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 to Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund.
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has supported Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative which sees the homebuilder donate £1,000 to a registered local or national charity each month.
Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank provides emergency food bags to vulnerable members of the community in partnership with social services, NHS and housing associations. The pandemic has increased food poverty which saw Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank provide over 20,000 food bags to members of the community. With the help of the Community Fund, Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank will be able to continue to support those living in poverty and addressing food insecurity in the local area.
Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, said: “We are always looking for ways to continue to support the communities in which we build, so we are thrilled that we were able to support Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank through our Community Fund.
“We look forward to working with more charities and organisations across the region who will benefit from our Community Fund throughout 2021.”
Graham Walker, Chair, Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the kind donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West. It has been an incredibly difficult time for many people over the last 18 months, so this donation will help us to continue to support those living in our community who are experiencing food poverty.”
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West is now accepting nominations to its Community Fund for the months of October, November and December. Registered charities that would like to apply for support from the homebuilder are invited to email their applications by Friday 10th September.
