Independent café dishes up festive favourites with new sharing board

The Factory Kitchen's new Christmas sharing board

An Ouseburn café has launched a new rustic sharing board with a yuletide twist, complete with fizz and mulled wine.

The Factory Kitchen, housed within The Biscuit Factory art, craft and design gallery, is offering its new Christmas sharing board between 12pm and 3pm throughout December.

The board includes turkey, bacon, cranberry and sprout slaw sandwich and homemade pork and sage sausage roll; or spinach, red onion and smoked cheddar quiche, and homemade nut roast wellington slice for vegetarians.

A grilled cheese finger, soup of the day and fresh salad bowl complete the savoury selection, rounded off by a sweet mince frangipane tart with cream.

The Christmas sharing board, priced at £21.95 per person, also comes with a mini bottle of prosecco on arrival followed by a glass of mulled wine.

Food is freshly prepared by the café’s in-house team, headed up by chef Michael Waugh, who previously worked alongside Marco Pierre White and staged at Noma in Copenhagen.

Diners can also explore the gallery’s free winter exhibition during their visit, featuring lots of interiors inspiration, Christmas gift ideas, one of the largest collections of handmade jewellery in the city, and original pieces for the perfect stocking filler.
