IT specialist on track with expansion plans

Following its move earlier this year to larger offices, specialist IT services provider, Professional Network Technology Solutions (PNTS) is continuing to enjoy sustained growth announcing new contract wins and an increase in staff numbers.

Founded in 2015 by respected IT specialists, Paul Ashley and Mark Pearson, against all the duo’s expectations, PNTS has had to relocate twice to accommodate its organic growth. Starting out in its registered office in Spennymoor, in 2017 the company moved to a small office in the North East Technology Park (NETPark) Incubator, Sedgefield which it quickly outgrew, prompting a move to an office in the same building.

During this timeframe, PNTS increased annual turnover from £150K in its first year of trading, to a healthy £393K, once more outgrowing its accommodation and necessitating this latest move.

Securing its future growth plans by signing a 10-year lease, PNTS now operates from 1,000 sqft of self-contained office space on the ground floor of Palatine House, at Durham’s Belmont Business Park and currently employs a team of seven.

Providing a full range of IT design, installation, maintenance and off-site support services to smaller organisations, predominantly in the built environment, PNTS recorded an annual turnover of £597K for 2018/19 and is expected to increase turnover for 2019/2020 to an impressive £800K+

The most recent contract wins include contracts with award-winning architect Howarth Litchfield and mechanical and electrical design engineers, TGA. In the case of Howarth Litchfield, PNTS supported the architect in its move from Old Elvet in the city centre, to neighbouring premises at Belmont Business Park.

Speaking about PNTS’ continued growth and increasing prominence in the region and further afield with key clients in London, Lincolnshire, Oxford, Stevenage and Kent, director Paul Ashley said:

“This is an exciting time for everyone at PNTS as we continue to secure new work with clients who are increasingly enjoying the benefits of signing up to receive ongoing maintenance and support, as well as critical need support in the event of a catastrophic event.

“I believe our ongoing success is down to both my and Mark’s knowledge and experience of providing sound ITS solutions. We have also introduced value added services such as our innovative Business Continuity Package, and have been able to recruit and retain highly skilled individuals who not only understand the wide-ranging technical aspects of IT but the importance it plays within the smooth running of any business, so these are certainly key aspects of our success and something we are extremely proud of.

Adding his thoughts, Paul said: “We have made a significant investment by moving to Belmont Business Park, which not only provides us with more space in which to accommodate our growing team – which has already increased by two more people since we moved to our new offices – it is also pivotal in our detailed plans for future growth. We will continue to expand our range of services, both in direct response to clients’ needs and by identifying emerging opportunities in new sectors such as telecommunications.”

Committed to playing its part in skilling the local workforce, as well as nurturing its own talent, PNTS is expected to take on a second apprentice who will join the company in September.
