A leading northern law firm is running a free seminar in Carlisle this month aimed at helping Cumbrian businesses prepare for Brexit, amidst continued uncertainty over the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.

With the clock ticking towards 29 March 2019 and the terms of the UK’s departure still shrouded in uncertainty, a breakfast briefing event has been organised by Muckle LLP.

‘Preparing your business for Brexit’ will be held at Carlisle Racecourse on Thursday 28 February 2019, following the popularity of two similar North East events.

Organisers are expecting high demand for the seminar, which is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors that want to learn more about preparing for the many options still on the Brexit negotiating table.

The event will feature expert insight from Luke Donockley and Robin Adams, solicitors in Muckle LLP’s commercial team. The pair will review the UK’s future relationship with the EU, share their top tips for Brexit planning and advise on how the process will affect existing commercial contracts.

Luke Donockley, who is originally from Stanwix, Carlisle, said: “We have been inundated with so much interest and this is the third event we will have held across the North. We expect the Cumbrian event to also be oversubscribed. It’s fantastic to see such a tremendous appetite for these events and I think that speaks volumes about how businesses currently feel about Brexit.

“As lawyers, we are traditionally risk averse, but it really makes commercial sense to prepare for a no deal Brexit, a process which will include steps that will be useful to businesses no matter what deal is agreed. It is the best way of future-proofing your company and I hope that attendees pick up lots of useful tips and ideas to help them negotiate the legal landscape ahead.”
