Leeds Charity looking for 10th anniversary Ball sponsors

Dickie Bird OBE and CHSF CEO Sharon Milner

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their annual Wear Red Day event with a lavish and celebrity-laden fundraising Ball.

And they are looking for local businesses to help sponsor the event, which is due to take place at Aspire in Leeds on Saturday, February 5th 2022.

The event will be hosted by former Look North presenter Harry Gration along with TV auctioneer Charles Hanson (Bargain Hunt, Flog It!), and other attendees will include Yorkshire icon and CHSF ambassador Dickie Bird OBE.

The “Red Ball” sponsorship packages include a table at the event, plus a range of top marketing benefits.

CHSF’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Caitlin Hazell said:

“Wear Red Day is the most important event in CHSF’s calendar, and we are asking local businesses to help us celebrate 10 years of life-saving fundraising with a milestone one-off celebration.”

“Our partners can expect spotlights in all our Ball promotional material both online and offline, plus a table at this unforgettable event for staff and guests.”

Online pharmacist service Pharmacy2U and business advisory service J9 Advisory Limited have both already signed up sponsor The Red Ball. Superintendent Pharmacist Phil Day said:

“Pharmacy2U are delighted to be sponsoring CHSF’s Red Ball, and helping to support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, young patients and their families.”

“We are looking forward to attending the event, knowing our sponsorship will lead to more positive outcomes for poorly babies in future.”

And Johnny Abraham, Managing Director of J9 Advisory Limited said:

“As a long-term supporter of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, J9 Advisory are delighted to be sponsoring The Red Ball. The Ball is looking to be a fantastic evening and will raise funds to support Yorkshire’s heart children.

“We have worked in partnership with CHSF over a number of years and know that the money raised makes a real difference to families in our community.”

Wear Red Day was set up in 2012 to fund CHSF’s Save Our Surgery campaign, and the event has gone on to raise over £335,000 for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit.

Every year since, regional businesses, schools, organisations and individuals have raised both valuable funds and priceless awareness of congenital heart disease, and the Red Ball will celebrate this decade of fundraising.

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is the most common type of birth defect, as it affects almost 1 in 100 newborn babies according to NHS figures.

The Red Ball will include a superb three-course meal, top-class entertainment, a live and silent auction, and a raffle – all with the aim of raising valuable and life-saving funds.

Sharon Milner CHSF CEO said:

“A decade on from the original Wear Red Day, CHSF are hosting this incredible Ball to celebrate the past, present and future of supporting hearts for life.”

“Wear Red Day has raised around a third of a million pounds and I’d like to thank everyone who has taken part in the event over the years, you are all amazing.”

“If your business can lend a hand with Ball sponsorship – like Pharmacy2U are very kindly doing, please contact CHSF and together we can raise a glass to the world-class Leeds Congenital Heart Unit.”
