Leeds community collaboration to build digital support Services at Leeds Digital Festival

A Leeds community collaboration will see local children’s charity benefit from a wealth of expertise from design agency, service design enthusiasts & members of the public to help streamline and improve their organisation for the future.

Hippo digital has announced its support of Leeds based charity Kidz Klub. The company is hosting a design event on Wednesday 18 April at ODI Leeds as part of the Leeds Digital Festival, bringing together design and developer professionals, service design fans and the public to support the team at Kidz Klub with their priorities for 2018 and beyond. Applying design thinking techniques used on clients across private/public sector not only will they provide tangible outputs that can be taken forward/delivered but will be sharing a different way of working to add value.

Founded in 2015, Hippo Digital has quickly established itself as a leading supplier of digital leaders, service design teams and delivery experts in support of large scale digital transformation programmes to both public and private sector organisations. For clients like NHS, HMRC, Cabinet Office and Government Digital Service who are looking to truly embrace digital services to innovate and evolve, Hippo Digital provide a clear and concise understanding of how to analyse what problem needs to be solved for a service to be delivered successfully.

Liz Whitefield Director of Hippo Digital explains: “We knew we wanted to take part in the Digital Festival, as we are so proud of being part of this great community of professionals in Leeds. This, coupled with a desire to give more back to a community we all care about, makes our design event something very special to us. Kidz Klub plays such a vital role in transforming the lives of children who can then go on and play an active part in continuing to make Leeds such a great city. Not only that but our principle of ‘working in the open’ means that we will share the outputs openly for other charities/organisations to use and learn from.”

Laura Hodgkinson Co-Leader of Kidz Klub concluded “We are delighted to have been chosen by Hippo as a local charity to support and to be involved in the Leeds Digital Festival this year. We are excited to participating in the design event which will be a first of its kind experience for us! We are looking forward to benefiting from the creative solutions that Liz and the team involved will help us to develop.

This is an incredible opportunity for us as a charity to work with digital professionals from across the city to strengthen our work supporting some of the most vulnerable children in Leeds”.
