Leeds firm partners with national retailer in world record attempt

A Leeds-based business has partnered with national retailer, Fitness Superstore to raise vital funds for children’s charity, Youth Sport Trust.

The partnership will see Fitness Superstore sponsor AllShapeUp’s world record attempt in May, as well as supply the founder, James Hesling with crucial fitness equipment ahead of the event.

James’ attempt to break the Guinness World Record, for the most miles run on a treadmill in 12 hours, will take place on 31st May 2018 at Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

The record breaking run will raise £25K for Youth Sport Trust, a charity dedicated to combatting child obesity and helping young people build the foundations of movement, exercise and sport from an early age.
Established in 1994, Fitness Superstore is the UK’s largest supplier of gym equipment for both home and commercial environments. With eleven stores nationwide, the business also operates a distribution centre with a 15,000 sqft showroom in Northampton.

AllShapeUp, which celebrated its first birthday in business last year and currently has more than 400 members, is a digital fitness platform built for individuals to help them become healthier, stronger and more confident.

Commenting on the partnership with Fitness Superstore, James Hesling said:

“I am incredibly excited to have joined forces with Fitness Superstore ahead of my world record attempt in May. The support the firm has provided will be invaluable in helping me to reach my goals; not only in terms of the amount of money raised for the charity, but also in getting me prepared to physically undertake the 90-mile run. It’s going to be tough on the day but with Fitness Superstore’s support I’m already well on my way to being able to achieve a world record.”

Retail marketing manager, Daniel Crawford said:

“We are delighted to be supporting James in his world record attempt and we are very proud to have been able to supply him with a Bowflex Results Series BXT326 Folding Treadmill, with the help of our friends at Nautilus.

“We wish him the best of luck on his record breaking run, and know that the money raised, is going to an incredible cause, helping the Youth Sport Trust and the exceptional work they do for children and young people through the power of sport.“
