Leeds pub creates 10 new jobs as it re-opens with a fresh look

A  Whinmoor pub has re-opened its doors to the public, following a significant transformation.

The Penda’s Arms on Naburn Approach has received a complete makeover to bring a fresh look and feel to the popular venue, creating 10 new jobs in the process.

As part of the investment, the pub has introduced a lighter colour scheme, extra seating in the beer garden and 4K TVs throughout, including a massive 85-inch screen.

The pub has also unveiled a mouth-watering new autumnal menu that features dishes such as chickpea, spinach and sweet potato curry, the big daddy burger with barbeque pulled pork and streaky bacon, as well as a traditional apple crumble, 20p from which will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

In addition, the Penda’s Arms has maintained its healthy selection of cask ales and wines.

Penda’s Arms general manager, Barry McMillan, said: “The Penda’s Arms is at the heart of the Whinmoor community, so we are excited to be able to offer a place for locals to enjoy a drink or meal in improved surroundings.

“The opening was a real success with great feedback from guests on the delicious new menu and the fantastic interiors. My team and I look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks.”
