Liverpool jeweller puts Lucy in the sky with diamonds to celebrate 50th anniversary

Beaverbrooks Liverpool St Johns

A Liverpool jeweller is giving one lucky shopper a free diamond today if they can locate ‘Lucy’, in the sky, with diamonds.

To mark the store’s 50th anniversary, Beaverbrooks in St Johns Shopping Centre is hosting the event instore today from 10.00am – 5.30pm.

Hundreds of balloons will be floating across the ceiling of the store, with the name ‘Lucy’ hidden inside one balloon, along with several faux diamonds. Customers will be invited to grab a balloon by its ribbon and take it to a store team member to be popped. The lucky customer that finds Lucy in the sky, with diamonds, will then receive a real sparkling diamond pendant worth £975.

As well as the 9ct white gold diamond pendant, a number of other prizes will also be hidden in the balloons including a Raymond Weil Maestro Beatles Sergeant Pepper limited edition watch worth £1190 and £50 Beaverbrooks gift cards.

Sam Stewart, store manager at Beaverbrooks Liverpool, said: “From birthdays to proposals, we’ve spent 50 years creating special moments for our customers in Liverpool – that’s why to celebrate our anniversary, we’re giving shoppers the chance to bag themselves a stunning diamond.

“The Beatles have an iconic history in the city, so what better way to share in our celebrations than by tapping into one of their most famous songs – and giving shoppers the opportunity to find Lucy in the sky to win a real diamond!

“Beaverbrooks is also celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, so to have been trading for half of the brand’s history is a fantastic achievement. The event will help us say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years and we hope that people will join us instore on Saturday 27 April for an extra special birthday celebration.”
