Manchester audiologists marks Deaf Awareness Week

Specsavers' Big Ear

An audiologists in Manchester Fort is lending an ear to help raise awareness of the importance of hearing this Deaf Awareness Week.

The team at Specsavers is demonstrating its specialist audiology services with an in-store awareness event to showcase its commitment to providing the very best standards in hearing care.

Staff at the store, along with Specsavers’ very own ‘Big Ear’, will be on hand to offer audiology advice on Saturday 11 May. The store is also offering free hearing tests all week.

Anum Saleemi, audiology director at Specsavers Manchester Fort, says: ‘While most people know that it’s important to get their eyes examined regularly as part of a full health check, fewer people realise the importance of a simple hearing check.

‘With one in six of the UK population affected by hearing loss, we want to make sure that people prioritise looking after their ears. We hope our Deaf Awareness Week event will help the local community to understand more about how our ears work, what we can do to look after them, and how Specsavers can help with any difficulties.’
