Manchester-based home furnishing company unveils £1.8m distribution centre expansion

Manchester-based Housing Units, has completed the £1.8m extension of its distribution centre, increasing the building’s storage capacity by 43,000 sq. ft. to 100,000 sq. ft.

The extended premises will cater to significant growth in the store’s retail and online sales, improving lead times between order and delivery. Customers can expect a more efficient shopping experience both in store and online as a result of the expansion.

The distribution centre extension is just one part of Housing Unit’s £5m improvement plans, with planning permission granted for an extra 26,000 sq. ft. of retail space and a brand new dining experience.

Nick Fox, CEO at Housing Units, said: “It’s brilliant to see the extended distribution centre up and running, improving the service we offer.

“After 70 years in business, we have an extremely loyal customer base and we always strive to make the Housing Units shopping experience the best we can for them.”
